Defining Value
Defining Value is a small publication that examines value beyond price, focusing instead on experience, interaction, and hidden labor. Developed in response to the Multiple Formats Art Book Fair, the project centers on a brief exchange with artist Adam Swift Lucas of Specific Ideas and the acquisition of a simple bean recipe card. By documenting and reflecting on this moment, the publication considers how meaning is shaped through conversation, exchange, and attention rather than monetary cost alone. The work invites viewers to slow down and take inventory of the experiences and relationships that give objects their significance.
